Job Description: Senior Accountant. You will oversee financial reporting, manage bookkeeping processes, review junior staff outputs, and support technology implementation projects. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in deadline-driven environments while contributing to innovative accounting solutions.

• Manage accounting responsibilities for several companies within the group, acting as the primary accountant.
• Perform weekly bookkeeping tasks using Xero, including processing bank transactions and invoices.
• Complete monthly balance sheet verification workpapers.
• Prepare monthly management accounts using Fathom reporting software.
• Prepare monthly payment schedules and file quarterly Sales Tax returns.
• Review and ensure the accuracy and quality of work prepared by junior staff members.
• Assist and, when required, lead projects involving large data analysis (e.g., revenue/cost/margin analysis) or technology implementation such as Mayday intercompany software.
• Participate in daily team meetings to share plans, timelines, and updates, while actively collaborating through Microsoft Teams and ad hoc calls.
• Consistently meet deadlines, maintain effective communication, and follow up with managers at the companies you support.
• Engage in initial training and demonstrations during the first month to become confident in assigned processes.
• Deliver accurate outputs within set deadlines for all assigned tasks across 1, 3, and 6-month periods.
• Adapt to challenges such as meeting strict deadlines, maintaining strong communication, and ensuring timely responses from company managers.

• At least 5 years of experience in an accountant role, preferably more
• Experience in the use of technology to automate accounting processes
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Excel
• Experience in preparing management accounts (individual & consolidated)
• Highly organized and able to prioritize and work to deadlines
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
• Self-motivated and enjoys working as part of a team

Highly desired experience:

• Familiarity with Xero and/or Fathom
• Experience in working within a small to medium-sized practice
