We’re looking for an Assistant Manager, Distribution Compliance to join our Integrated Compliance Services (ICS). In this role, you will oversee segment’s day-to-day operations by prioritizing the team’s tasks and providing direction to meet service levels. Strong leadership is expected to support the manager and tower lead in executing ICS initiatives.

Responsibilities
  • Leadership: Adapt plans and set priorities to meet service and operational challenges
  • Act as point of escalation; use judgment to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day operational problems guided by established standards
  • Provide direction to the team in meeting service level objectives (Quality Score, TAT, timeliness)
  • Coach, motivate, and develop team members
  • Provide training and prepare process documents for new hires
  • Assist the Associate Director with recruitment, workforce management, employment actions, including discipline and termination in accordance with policy
  • Conduct timely and constructive performance evaluations
  • Collaborate with leaders to ensure talent development and team engagement through ICS initiatives
Risk
  • Ensure all pertinent Manulife policies and guidelines are followed by team members and that Mandatory Compliance Training is completed timely
  • Ensure all documents are reviewed timely and stored in a secure repository
Stakeholder Management
  • Communicate updates and changes effectively to all stakeholders within the segment
  • Manage stakeholder expectations through appropriate engagement and timely status reporting on operational highlights
Required Qualifications
  • At least 3 years in a leadership role
  • 2–3 years of experience in distribution compliance, knowledge of agents and sales processes in insurance or fraud investigations (e.g., sales misconduct investigations), or experience in regulatory compliance
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Work experience in finance or insurance operations is preferred but not required
