We are hiring on behalf of Desser & Co , a 106-year-old Manchester-based furniture manufacturer specialising in natural rattan indoor and outdoor products. The company has evolved its e-commerce and digital strategy to enhance customer experience through rich, detailed online product visualisation. Role Overview Desser & Co is seeking a 3D Product Visualisation Artist to support the creation of furniture‑fabric render combinations for its online catalogue. This role focuses on producing accurate, web‑optimised 3D renders of furniture items, prioritising volume, consistency, and precision over high‑end artistry. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing in‑house designer (Jay) who will provide training, technical guidance, and ongoing support. You’ll be responsible for executing structured tasks based on detailed Excel‑based work trackers and ensuring renders are delivered on time, within quality standards. Key Responsibilities Create base renders of furniture models (e.g., sofas, chairs, and footstools) using existing imagery and templates. Apply approximately 40 fabric textures (plain, patterned, and striped) to generate furniture‑fabric combinations. Deliver around 5,000 total renders for website use within the initial two‑month project window. Ensure renders are consistent, accurate, and saved in the required PNG format for web optimisation. Maintain an internal tracker/log of completed combinations to support version control and progress tracking. Coordinate daily with the in‑house designer (Jay) for training, feedback, and progress reviews. Communicate effectively with a small, collaborative team of five members based in the UK. Follow provided task sheets, file‑naming conventions, and folder structures to ensure consistency. Manage time effectively and work independently with minimal supervision while meeting agreed milestones. Optional / Future Responsibilities Create lifestyle renders or visual compositions for marketing use (post‑training). Assist with graphic design tasks such as website banners, social media content, and advertising materials. Contribute ideas for improving workflow efficiency, automation, or render consistency. Skills & Experience Required Strong working knowledge of basic 3D rendering or visualisation (e.g., using Photoshop, Canva, or equivalent software). Experience creating simple 3D product or material renders, focusing on accuracy and clean visual output. Good understanding of texture application , lighting consistency , and image formatting for web. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed task lists and maintain documentation. Self‑motivated, reliable, and able to deliver high‑quality output independently. Preferred Experience with furniture or product visualisation. Familiarity with 3D tools such as Blender, KeyShot, or 3ds Max (not mandatory). Proficiency in Photoshop, Canva, Nai, or similar design platforms . Basic understanding of rendering for e‑commerce or marketing use. Work Environment & Collaboration Fully remote position, working primarily during UK business hours (3:00 p.m. – 12:00 a.m. Manila time). Regular communication via Zoom or screen‑sharing sessions for updates and feedback. Collaborative team culture with open communication and peer support. Training and reference materials will be provided by Desser’s in‑house team. Performance Expectations Deliver approximately 5,000 renders within a two‑month period. Maintain a consistent level of accuracy, colour quality, and texture alignment across all combinations. Ensure adherence to brand and web presentation standards. Demonstrate strong communication, accountability, and attention to detail. This project represents the first phase of a longer‑term collaboration. As Desser continues to introduce new furniture and fabric ranges, the artist will likely be retained for ongoing visual updates. Over time, responsibilities may expand into marketing design, lifestyle visualisation, and creative content production , offering growth potential for the right candidate. Hiring Process Portfolio Submission – candidates must submit relevant samples demonstrating 3D rendering or product visualisation work. Initial Interview – with the UK management team (David and Mark) to assess communication and fit. Technical Brief / Task – shortlisted candidates will complete a short exercise to evaluate rendering capability.
