LifeBank Microfinance Foundation, Inc. (LBF) is a non-stock and non-profit organization engaged in micro-financing initiatives that advance comprehensive and sustainable development in rural and urban areas through integrated social services. We are a major catalyst in breaking the chains of poverty in the Philippines. LBF is backed by its 2 pillar programs: The Ikabuhi Microfinance Program (IMP) for financial services and the Sustainable Development Program (SDP) for social services. We are looking for two (2) Data Engineers for the Data Science Team at Brgy. Maria Clara, Iloilo City, Iloilo. Job Description for Data Engineer Establish a directory of data sources used by the organization, including the databases, applications, files, APIs, and data feeds. Establish data governance procedures and policies aligned with the Data Privacy Guidelines of LBF to ensure data stewardship, ownership, and regulatory compliance. Create a data schema that presents the structure and relationships of data from various sources. Extract data from various sources, transform it into a consistent format, and load it into the unified database through Extract, Transform, Load pipelines. Regulate access and edits on the data, develop access control policies, and put security measures in place to secure sensitive data. Implement systems for version control, auditing, and tracking data changes. Provide training and support on the use of the unified database, data cleaning, and data preprocessing to data owners, data analysts, and data scientists. Install monitoring and alerting systems and deploy the unified database in a production environment to guarantee its stability and availability. Offer continuing maintenance and troubleshooting assistance to handle any issues that may occur. Job Qualifications for Data Engineer Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline (i.e., business analytics, statistics, mathematics) or with relevant training in data analytics. Proficiency in the use of analytic tools such as R, Python, and Excel. Familiarity with working with Relational and Non-Relational Database. Experience in data cleaning and preprocessing with keen attention to detail to spot anomalies or errors in data and ensure accuracy in reports. Strong statistical analysis skills, including hypothesis testing, regression analysis, and other statistical techniques. Strong problem-solving skills to identify issues and find data-driven solutions. Ability to create compelling and insightful data visualizations and data stories to communicate findings effectively. Strong communication and collaboration skills while working in a remote team environment. Strong commitment to ethical data collection, usage, and sharing practices, particularly in handling sensitive financial data of clients. Willingness to stay updated on emerging data analysis tools, technologies, and best practices, especially those relevant to the microfinance sector. Willing to work remotely. How To Apply?
