Sr. Electrical Project Engineer

Cloquet manufactures Verve, a dissolving pulp used for the textile and home goods markets. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Electrical Project Engineer to lead and support major capital projects at our facility. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in electrical engineering, project management, and cross-functional leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping the future of our operations and will have the opportunity to grow into a higher-level management position . Key Responsibilities Lead the planning, budgeting, and execution of large-scale electrical capital projects, including power systems, PLCs, drives, and controls. Provide strategic oversight and technical direction for the design, installation, and maintenance of plant electrical and instrumentation systems. Manage internal and external resources including designers, vendors, consultants, and contractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery. Oversee power systems engineering , including distribution, generation, relaying, and Arc-Flash Program compliance. Support plant operations with technical troubleshooting and occasional maintenance support. Assist in maintaining and updating plant one-line diagrams and electrical documentation. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (required). Minimum of 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering and capital project management within an industrial or manufacturing environment. Proven ability to lead multi-million-dollar capital projects from concept through startup. Strong understanding of electrical distribution systems (13.8 kV and below) . Demonstrated leadership skills with a desire and capability to advance into senior management roles . Preferred Skills & Certifications Proficiency in AutoCAD , Microsoft Office Suite , and power system modeling software . Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines effectively. Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record.
