US Senior Tax Accountant and Reviewer (S-Corps) | Direct Hire - Fully Remote

Seeking driven accounting and finance professionals to join a global, remote-friendly CPA firm that specializes in independent pharmacies. The role is for a Tax Reviewer who will oversee and review complex tax returns, primarily S-corporation returns for pharmacy clients, provide strategic tax planning guidance, and mentor junior staff.

Responsibilities

  • Review federal and state S-corp tax returns with a focus on pharmacy clients; ensure completeness, accuracy, and compliance
  • Evaluate supporting documentation and calculations prepared by team members
  • Maintain knowledge of IRS guidelines, state-specific rules, and pharmacy-related tax considerations
  • Lead or participate in proactive tax planning discussions, particularly around S-Corp structures and owner compensation strategies
  • Provide technical insight into estimated payments, deductions, credits, and tax-saving opportunities
  • Communicate complex tax issues clearly to clients; mentor and provide feedback to junior staff
  • Collaborate with tax preparers to ensure accuracy and completeness of tax data
  • Assist in developing and improving internal tax processes and quality control protocols
  • Assist clients during IRS or state audits by supplying accurate records and documentation
  • Maintain well-organized tax work papers and client correspondence
  • Utilize tax software tools (e.g., Lacerte, QuickBooks) to review and enhance workflow efficiency
  • Recommend new tools or process enhancements for better team performance

  • Familiarity with pharmacy-specific tax regulations and compliance requirements
  • Proficiency in tax software and tools (e.g., QuickBooks, Lacerte)
  • Leadership experience preferred
