Role Description

As a Software Engineer , you will work with our team to create and maintain web apps that our clients will use to interact with our machine-learning solutions and data pipelines . Your role is to ensure our users can intuitively understand and navigate our solutions. Projects may include interactive maps, custom dashboards beyond Tableau’s capabilities, knowledge bases leveraging ML predictions, or mobile web apps with camera-based item classification. Each project is unique

You will be involved in designing, creating, and maintaining both frontend and backend components. If you have focused on one area, we encourage you to apply, but be prepared to train as a full-stack developer to be fully effective.

Working with APIs is essential — you will build web applications that consume internal and external APIs and develop web services interfacing our ML models with apps. Our goal is to deliver the best user experience for our clients.

Code hygiene is critical: write readable, documented, and ideally tested code. Proficiency with version control systems like git is also important.

Role Requirements

We need engineers with strong fundamental, language-agnostic skills . You should be capable of creating web apps and designing APIs. While your initial tech stack may differ, your ability to learn quickly is essential.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has 3+ years of relevant web development experience
  • Enjoys coding and maintains excellent code hygiene: Comfortable writing, explaining, and maintaining clean, clear, and maintainable code.
  • Has experience with:
    • Various cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
    • Our usual tech stack (Python, JavaScript, React, Django, Flask, FastAPI, Airflow, Dagster)
    • SQL/NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch)
    • git (bonus if familiar with trunk-based development)
  • Has strong communication skills: Able to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences and document your work thoroughly.
  • Makes things fast: Efficient in your work, prioritizing performance.
  • Builds sustainably: Creates scalable, reusable frameworks and best practices to reduce future effort.
  • Has high initiative: Proactively supports team projects and identifies where your skills can help.
