A Planning Engineer is responsible for developing, managing, and monitoring project schedules, ensuring that construction or engineering projects are completed on time and within budget. This role involves close coordination with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to plan project timelines, allocate resources, and identify risks.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project schedules using tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
  • Coordinate with project teams to define scope, milestones, deliverables, and resource allocation
  • Monitor project progress and update schedules to reflect changes and delays
  • Analyze and report on variances between planned and actual progress
  • Provide early warnings for potential schedule delays and suggest mitigation strategies
  • Assist in budget planning and cost control efforts in coordination with cost engineers
  • Ensure compliance with project management procedures and client specifications
  • Support risk management and change control processes
  • Collaborate with procurement and construction teams to align schedule with project needs

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
  • Proven experience in project planning/scheduling , preferably in construction or solar projects
  • Preferably with at least 1-3 years of experience in operations and maintenance within solar industry
  • Proficient in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities
