This is a remote position. The QA Tester will lead quality assurance efforts across our platform. As the sole dedicated QA resource, you will be responsible for designing, executing, and maintaining all testing activities across mobile, web, and backend systems. This includes creating and running smoke tests, regression tests, exploratory tests, and functional test cycles. The role requires someone who can work independently, define testing standards, and ensure software releases are stable and reliable. Key Responsibilities Test Strategy & Execution Design and execute functional, smoke, regression, and exploratory tests Develop and maintain test plans and test cases from product specifications Create and manage reusable regression test suites to cover critical business flows Conduct pre-release smoke testing to validate builds in staging and production Identify high-risk areas and prioritise testing efforts accordingly Support release cycles by verifying hotfixes and post-deployment changes Defect Management Log and manage defects using Jira, including clear reproduction steps and severity ratings Verify fixes and manage defect revalidation within each sprint Provide feedback on testability and raise blockers early Test Environment & Tools Management Maintain and manage test data and environments across staging and production Use tools like Postman for API validation and browser-based developer tools for debugging Create or maintain lightweight automated checks (e.g. smoke tests via Cypress) Collaboration Work closely with engineers and product managers in Agile ceremonies (e.g. daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) Participate in release planning and contribute risk assessments for deployment Collaborate with support to investigate and triage production issues Continuous Improvement Establish repeatable test processes and documentation to improve QA scalability Recommend improvements to release processes, test coverage, and regression cycles Drive clarity on what should be tested manually vs automated as the product scales Requirements Essential 3+ years experience as a QA tester in a product-led or SaaS environment Strong knowledge of testing methodologies including smoke, regression, functional, and exploratory testing Ability to work independently and prioritise test activities across concurrent releases Proficient with Jira, test case management tools, and API testing (e.g. Postman) Solid understanding of software development lifecycles and sprint-based delivery Strong communication and documentation skills Desirable Experience testing platforms built with Vue.js, Laravel/PHP, and MySQL Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Cypress, Playwright, or Selenium Experience testing in a healthcare, HR tech, or workforce scheduling context Working knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and test integration #J-18808-Ljbffr
