Tech Lead - Senior Backend Developer - Java/Python (Work From Home)

Overview

Technical leadership role focused on backend development using Java and/or Python, guiding architectural decisions and ensuring high-quality software delivery in a work-from-home setup.

Responsibilities
  • Translate product requirements into technical specifications and actionable tasks.
  • Make architectural decisions and guide the evolution of the backend stack.
  • Mentor and support team members in technical growth and best practices.
  • Ensure code quality through reviews, testing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners and stakeholders to align technical solutions with business goals.
  • Design, develop, debug, and operate backend applications.
  • Provide engineering support for end-to-end problem resolution and root cause analysis.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Software Development
  • 5+ years of experience in object-oriented software and application development, mainly in Java and/or Python.
  • 5+ years of experience in Agile Development, DevOps, and Test-Driven Design (TDD).
  • 5+ years of experience in unit testing, Test-Driven Development, code review, continuous integration, continuous delivery & DevOps practices.
  • Ability to slice and dice a business/system problem into a modular and maintainable solution with your team
  • Comfort with technical decision-making at a low level
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to break work into stories
  • Demonstrated technical leadership
Nice To Have
  • Familiarity with code management tools (Git) and automation/orchestration tools; Infra-As-Code mindset
  • Strong communication skills and ability to define and convey long-term vision
  • Coaching skills to elevate the team's performance
  • Experience with containers (Docker, Kubernetes) and/or Docker Swarm
  • Experience with real-time stream processing (Kafka)
  • Experience in a Public Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure)
  • Linux knowledge and relevant certifications
  • Strong IP networking skills
Educational Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
Work Conditions
  • Work From Home Set-up
  • Schedule is from 4 PM-1 AM MNL / 4 AM – 1 PM EST (Monday-Friday)
