Job Role Summary/Overview A growing design company in their third year specializing in coffee shop and restaurant fit-outs across the UK. They handle complex 6-8 week projects that require sophisticated financial tracking and industry-specific accounting expertise. You’ll be the financial backbone for a specialized design company where your construction industry expertise will be truly valued and essential. This isn’t your typical bookkeeping role – you’ll apply advanced knowledge of work-in-progress accounting, deposit management, and project-based financial tracking that most accountants don’t understand. Job Highlights Hourly Rate: PHP 460 Paid Hours per Week: 20 Schedule: We are flexible on this, but ideally would be required Monday, Wednesday & Friday | UK, GMT Work Arrangement: Work from home Contract: Independent Contractor Side note: Since this is a permanent work‑from‑home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process. Responsibilities Manage complex work‑in‑progress accounting for multi‑week construction projects Process customer deposits correctly as short‑term liabilities rather than immediate revenue Track project‑based purchasing and expenses throughout 6-8 week project lifecycles Create precise journal entries moving costs from balance sheet to P&L as projects progress Handle invoicing and payment processing for ongoing construction projects Maintain accurate financial records using Zoho Books accounting software Support project cost analysis and financial reporting for management decisions Ensure UK VAT compliance specific to construction industry requirements Requirements Strong understanding of construction industry accounting principles and practices Experience with work‑in‑progress accounting and project‑based financial management Knowledge of UK VAT regulations and construction industry compliance Understanding of deposit handling in construction contexts (short‑term liabilities vs. revenue recognition) Proficiency with accounting software (Zoho Books preferred, QuickBooks experience easily transferable) Bonus if you have experience with coffee shop or restaurant fit‑out projects It helps if you’ve worked with design or construction companies in growth phases Reminder Kindly apply directly to the link provided; you will be redirected to BruntWork’s Career Site.
