Overview

Job title : Data Analyst

Position summary : The Data Analyst is responsible for developing, maintaining, and improving reports that support all departments across the organization. This role involves collecting, validating, and analyzing data to ensure accuracy and provide actionable insights. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the company’s data ecosystem and will proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and decision-making processes.

Power BI

• Responsible for the creation of new reports
• Perform regular audits to verify data consistency and accuracy across systems
• Identify and resolve issues in existing reports and dashboards

Sales Analysis

• Revenue & Growth Trends – Overall sales performance over time, including seasonality, channel mix, and geographic breakdown.
• Product & Category Performance – Bestsellers vs. slow movers, contribution margin, pricing/discount impact, and inventory turnover.
• Customer & Market Insights – Customer segments, repeat vs. new buyers, lifetime value, and competitor benchmarking.
• Profitability & Efficiency – Forecast vs. actuals, returns/deductions, and sales efficiency metrics (per employee, per marketing dollar, etc.).

Data exports for Reporting

• Various shipping data
• Various sales data
• Returns on various platforms
• Other data exporting and cleaning, as needed

All other Duties and Projects as assigned, ad hoc research and reporting

• Experience within a products-based company
• Experience in data collection, cleaning, and analysis
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, charts, etc.)
• Experience building and maintaining reports in Power BI
• Expert Power BI proficiency
• SQL intermediate proficiency
• Experience with automations via Zapier, Make, or similar platform
• Proficient in Power Query for data transformation and report automation
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work 9:00am-5:00pm Eastern Standard Time
• Familiarity with ecommerce platforms like Shopify, Home Depot, Lowe’s, Wayfair, Houzz, Walmart, Overstock, and Menards.
• Sellercloud or similar ERP system (Netsuite, etc.)
