Overview

Position: Head of Legal

Company Overview: Paynamics is a leading payment solutions provider in the Philippines, offering innovative and secure payment services to businesses of all sizes. Our goal is to provide our clients with the best payment solutions that meet their unique needs and help them grow their businesses.

We are currently seeking a highly experienced and dynamic Head of Legal to join our team in Makati City, Metro Manila. As the Head of Legal, you will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters within the company and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement legal strategies and policies to support the company's goals and objectives
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to senior management on a wide range of legal issues, including corporate governance, contracts, intellectual property, employment, and regulatory compliance
  • Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements with customers, partners, and vendors
  • Manage and oversee all legal documentation and records, ensuring they are accurate, up-to-date, and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations
  • Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations that may affect the company and advise senior management accordingly
  • Represent the company in legal proceedings, such as disputes, lawsuits, and regulatory investigations
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate legal risks in business operations and processes
  • Manage relationships with external legal counsel and ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of legal services
  • Provide legal training and guidance to employees on legal matters and company policies
  • Oversee and manage the legal team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Law, with a valid license to practice in the Philippines
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a legal role, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management position
  • Extensive knowledge of Philippine laws and regulations, particularly in the areas of corporate, commercial, and labor law
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to provide sound legal advice and solutions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and negotiate effectively
  • Proven track record in managing legal matters and providing strategic legal advice in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Experience in the payments industry or financial services sector is a plus
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing legal team
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
