Purpose of the Position: Functional operation in Teaching and Learning, Research and Innovation, Community Engagement, and leadership in the School of Nursing. Key Responsibilities Support teaching and learning of Masters and PhD research modules. Participate in curriculum development, implementation, and evaluation of undergraduate programmes; develop, register, coordinate, and present Short Learning Programmes (SLPs). Assist with undergraduate and postgraduate modules as requested by the teaching and learning director. Provide coaching and mentoring in teaching and learning. Increase research output: publish findings in national and international journals; supervise master’s and PhD students; conduct own postgraduate studies; initiate and maintain research networks. Participate in ethics and research proposal evaluation; ensure effective research administration. Lead community engagement activities/projects; register and lead school community engagement projects; develop projects benefiting community, health and nursing service delivery. Support and empower nursing/health clinical programmes; lead students and support personnel in undergraduate teaching and learning. Participate in school committees and external committees affiliated to the school. Serve on related research committees as directed by the research office. Minimum Requirements for Senior Lecturer PhD (NQF level 10) in Nursing Science. Qualification in any speciality in Nursing Science. Postgraduate qualification in Nursing Education. Registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a nurse educator and midwife. Minimum of 3 years’ experience in higher education teaching. Minimum of 3 years’ clinical experience.
