With a strong global audience and digital footprint, we’re now expanding into the ambient music space , creating a dedicated sub-label that captures immersive, cinematic, and deeply atmospheric soundscapes. Role Description We’re seeking a Creative Label Manager (Ambient) to spearhead the creation and launch of our new ambient music division. This is a creative and strategic role for someone deeply embedded in the ambient music world, who understands the nuances of the genre and its global audience. You’ll be responsible for building the sub-label from the ground up, sourcing high-quality ambient music, managing artist relationships, setting the creative direction, and helping shape the brand identity as we move toward a full launch in 2026. The Creative Label Manager will be responsible for overseeing artist and repertoire (A&R) administration, managing communications between artists, labels, and other stakeholders, and driving sales activities within the ambient music genre. Day-to-day tasks include developing and implementing marketing strategies, coordinating with artists and music producers, and managing projects to ensure timely delivery. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute the creative and strategic direction for the new ambient sub-label under Chilled Cat Music. Identify, approach, and negotiate with artists who have pre-released or high-value ambient tracks suitable for catalog acquisition. Manage licensing and acquisition deals to build the label’s initial discography. Oversee the label’s setup, branding, and operational framework (from submission systems to release workflows). Build strong relationships with producers, composers, and distributors in the ambient and cinematic music space. Curate a unique aesthetic and sound identity that aligns with Chilled Cat’s quality and audience expectations. Lead ongoing A&R efforts post-launch, including new artist onboarding, submissions, and content planning. Requirements (REQUIRED ) Proven experience in label management, A&R, music curation, or related creative roles (preferably within the ambient, downtempo, or cinematic genres). Strong understanding of the ambient and atmospheric music landscape and trends. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work autonomously while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Deep passion for ambient music and storytelling through sound. Ambient music is more than AI slop, you are someone who fundamentally understands that. Preferred Skills Experience managing label operations or digital distribution processes. Existing network within the ambient or electronic music community. Familiarity with metadata management, publishing rights, and licensing.
