Senior Quantity Surveyor

We are looking for Senior Quantity Surveyor to become part of our site-based team at the Bacoor Reclamation and Development Project in between the Cavitex highway and Bacoor City, Metro Manila, Philippines, overseeing the construction of a landmark reclamation project. The expected project duration is 2 years, and the position is for 19 months. Are you interested, then you may be the candidate that we are looking for

The senior quantity surveyor will report to the Engineer’s Representative at site. The senior quantity surveyor will lead the quantity surveying of the works and support the Contractual and Commercial lead in monitoring the program, cost, and contractual aspects of the project. The duties will include:

• assisting in the implementation of contractual processes as set out in the contract
• reviewing incoming correspondence and drafting appropriate contractual replies
• identifying project risks, suggesting, and implementing agreed avoidance and mitigation plans, and monitoring risks
• analyzing current and expected progress of the project in terms of works completion and cost against the program, identifying issues, and providing solutions
• keeping records of all works complete, materials delivered, time spent, etc.
• reviewing progress billings and preparing payment certificates, verifying supporting documents through field surveys and site inspector reports
• assisting in the assessment of variations and claims on the project, analyzing impact on cost and time
• contributing to the completion of weekly, monthly, and other reports
• developing and maintaining working relationships with client and contractor
• utilizing software to calculate, record, track inventory and estimates

The project involves the dredging and reclamation works for the Bacoor Reclamation and Development Project (BRDP) in Bacoor, the Philippines. Haskoning is the engineer on the project and is supervising the dredging and reclamation works undertaken by a contractor based on a FIDIC Construct Only type of contract. You will become part of the BRDP Construction Management and Supervision team led by an international experienced Engineer’s Representative supported by 14 inspectors, surveyors and engineers. As a senior quantity surveyor, you will supervise and work on the environmental aspects of the reclamation project. For this position, you need to have the following competencies/skills:

• minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying or other relevant degree
• around 10-20 years of relevant work experience
• experience as quantity surveyor in a construction management consultancy firm is essential
• excellent knowledge of the English language (written and verbal)
• strong in record keeping
• analytical thinker and strong problem solver
• strong interpersonal and communication skills
• team player, versatile, and energetic
• adept at working in a digital way
• proficient in Microsoft suite of applications
