A Python developer with API expertise is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend systems and RESTful APIs, enabling integration with various web applications or third-party services. This role requires strong Python programming skills, experience with API frameworks (such as Flask or Django), and comprehensive understanding of HTTP methods, authentication, and API best practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and document RESTful APIs using frameworks like Flask or Django.
  • Write efficient, scalable, and reusable Python code for backend systems.
  • Integrate APIs with databases (SQL/NoSQL) and external web services.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers and cross-functional teams for end-to-end solution delivery.
  • Ensure API performance, robust security, and data protection measures.
  • Test, debug, and optimize API endpoints; maintain software documentation.
  • Work with version control systems such as Git and familiarize with DevOps practices for CI/CD pipelines.

Skills & Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python programming and experience with RESTful API design.
  • Knowledge of frameworks like Flask, Django, or FastAPI for API development.
  • Understanding of HTTP, authentication (OAuth/JWT), and API security best practices.
  • Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, plus ORM libraries.
  • Familiarity with API documentation tools (OpenAPI/Swagger) is advantageous.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.
