Bookkeeper and Tax Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Bookkeeper and Tax Specialist to join our dynamic team at Remote VA. This position involves managing our clients’ financial records, preparing taxes, and providing expert advice on financial compliance. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in bookkeeping and tax regulations to ensure our clients’ financial health. Key Responsibilities: Bookkeeping Duties: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for multiple clients, including accounts payable and receivable. Record daily financial transactions and reconcile bank statements. Prepare monthly and annual financial statements, including profit and loss reports and balance sheets. Tax Preparation: Prepare and file federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals and small businesses. Ensure compliance with tax regulations and deadlines. Advise clients on tax-saving strategies and financial planning to minimize tax liabilities. Financial Analysis: Analyze clients’ financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for improvement. Provide recommendations for budgeting, forecasting, and financial management. Client Consultation: Communicate effectively with clients regarding their financial situation and tax obligations. Address client inquiries and provide solutions related to tax and bookkeeping issues. Administrative Support: Organize and maintain financial documents and ensure they are readily available for audits or reviews. Collaborate with other team members to support overall financial operations. Requirements Bookkeeping experience, with a strong focus on tax preparation and compliance. Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar. Knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Strong communication skills and ability to work with clients in a friendly and professional manner. CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required.
