Summary: Reporting to the Vice President - Fund Accounting, the Assistant Vice President - Fund Accounting will be an integral part of the team’s success.

Responsibilities
  • Manage a small number of client relationships, ensuring superior client service and timely delivery of accurate information.
  • Own responsibility for clients’ portfolios from start to finish.
  • Assist in the management of a team of Associates and Senior Associates.
  • Provide recommendations and capture observations to support holistic performance evaluation of assigned team members.
  • Conduct, facilitate, delegate and monitor the training of team members, including the use of relevant accounting software and applications.
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding of team members, maintain a positive and professional work environment, and engage team members to minimize turnover.
  • Review daily client deliverables to ensure deadlines are met through planning, delegation and scheduling.
  • Review and/or calculation of Net Asset Values in line with client requirements, including the Exception Management System (EMS).
  • Review transactions processed (trades, cash, corporate actions, income and expenses) daily.
  • Review Daily Cash & Position reconciliations.
  • Manage client mailboxes and serve as the day-to-day point of contact for multiple clients (internal and external) with ability to use initiative and make decisions.
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders, investment managers, brokers, depositaries, auditors and custodians on day-to-day fund operations.
  • Complete other ad hoc tasks, department projects or deliverables as needed due to business demand.
Experience
  • Overall 5 years of experience in the accounting field.
  • Minimum 3 years of fund accounting experience (e.g., hedge funds, private equity).
  • Financial reporting experience is an advantage.
  • Prior managerial or supervisory experience is an advantage.
  • Experience navigating fund accounting systems (e.g., InvestOne, eFront, Investran) and operating in a daily reconciliations environment is an advantage.
Education
  • University degree (B.A./B.Sc./M.B.A.) in Business, preferably with a concentration in accounting or related financial discipline.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or other international accounting certifications is an advantage.
