Functional/Operational The Category/Brand Manager or Brand Strategists are responsible for maintaining a company or individual’s public image through the implementation of marketing initiatives. Their duties include communicating with company executives, marketing personnel, and public figures; completing research into industry trends and public perception; and aiding in the creation of marketing and advertising campaigns to strengthen their client’s brand identity. Furthermore, Brand Managers are responsible for understanding what makes our target audience tick and for developing marketing campaigns that position our brand according to those motivators. The marketing campaigns will not only drive customer engagement but will further define our brand's reputation and image concerning the market. Core Functions/Responsibilities Conduct market research to understand consumer behavior, competitor landscape, and emerging industry trends. Identify how our brand is currently positioned in the market. Design a research-based brand strategy. Develop and execute marketing campaigns aimed at communicating our brand message. Communicate our brand personality internally and align the company around foundational ideas. Lead marketing team members through campaigns. Measure and report on the success of marketing campaigns. Anticipate consumer trends and keep the brand up-to-date. Developing custom marketing and advertising strategies. Creating designs and layouts for media outlets. Writing pitches, blog posts and articles. Making decisions about the cost of branding and analyzing trends in customer spending. Building relationships with influencers, journalists, and media outlets. Overseeing social media accounts and ensuring brand consistency. Conducting meetings with clients. Overseeing marketing staff. Collaborate with the marketing team to create innovative and engaging marketing campaigns. Ensure brand consistency across all channels and touchpoints. Track and analyze key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness of brand strategies. Use data‑driven insights to refine and optimize campaigns for maximum impact. Work closely with various teams, including marketing, sales, product development, and customer support, to ensure seamless brand execution and alignment. Leverage social media platforms to increase brand visibility, engage with our audience, and foster brand loyalty. Proactively manage the brand's online reputation, responding to customer feedback, and handling any crises with tact and sensitivity. Develop and maintain brand guidelines to ensure consistent brand representation internally and externally. Measure and report the performance of all marketing campaigns, and assess ROI and KPIs. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required Proven experience as a Category Manager/Brand Manager or similar role (min 3 years). Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making abilities. Exceptional creativity and a keen eye for detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership qualities and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Experience with B2C social media, Google Ads, Meta Ads, TikTok Ads, Email Marketing, and SEO/SEM. Working knowledge of ad-serving tools (e.g., DART, Atlas) is an advantage. Perfect knowledge of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, NetInsight, WebTrends, etc.). Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Team Related Manages performance of Processes through performance management, career planning strategies, and sharing of best practices. Qualification (Education) • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field. • Minimum 5 years of work-related experience with at least 3 years’ experience as Category/Brand Manager. • Has managed team(s) in the past. Desired Industry Exposure Brand Strategy Development – The ability to craft and execute effective brand strategies that align with the company's overall goals and resonate with the target audience. Market Research and Analysis – Proficiency in conducting market research to understand consumer behavior, competitor landscape, and emerging trends. Analyzing data to identify opportunities and make data-driven decisions. Creative Vision – A keen eye for creativity and innovation to develop unique brand concepts and captivating campaigns that set the brand apart from competitors. Communication Skills – Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate the brand's message clearly and effectively to both internal stakeholders and external audiences. Brand Identity Management – Ensuring consistency and coherence in brand representation across all touchpoints, including visual elements, tone of voice, and brand messaging. Leadership and Collaboration – Strong leadership qualities to lead cross-functional teams and collaborate effectively with marketing, sales, product development, and other departments. Consumer Insights – The ability to understand and interpret consumer insights to create marketing strategies that resonate with the target audience. Digital Marketing Knowledge – Familiarity with digital marketing channels and the latest digital trends to leverage digital platforms effectively in brand promotion. Brand Monitoring and Analysis – Constantly monitoring brand performance, customer feedback, and market trends to make real‑time adjustments to brand strategies. Crisis Management – Skill in handling reputation management and crises with tact and professionalism, safeguarding the brand's image during challenging times. Budget Management – Ability to manage budgets effectively, optimizing resources for maximum impact on brand campaigns. Innovation and Adaptability – A proactive approach to adapt to changing market dynamics and industry trends, consistently seeking innovative ways to enhance the brand's position. Brand Guidelines – Experience in developing and maintaining brand guidelines to ensure brand consistency and integrity across all communications. Analytical Skills – Proficiency in using data and metrics to measure the success of brand initiatives and make informed decisions. Passion for Brands – An innate passion for branding and an understanding of how powerful branding can drive business success.
