The individual will be responsible for strategic planning, mentoring junior staff, and ensuring the resilience and performance of data systems. Responsibilities Design and implement advanced backup and recovery strategies, including disaster recovery (DR) solutions and business continuity planning. Optimize storage performance, capacity utilization, and data efficiency across SAN, NAS, object, and cloud storage. Evaluate new backup and storage technologies, conduct proofs-of-concept, and recommend improvements. Lead and participate in disaster recovery testing, identify gaps, and drive improvements. Automate backup, recovery, and storage management tasks using scripting (Python, PowerShell) and orchestration tools. Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior backup and storage engineers. Perform advanced troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex backup failures and storage performance issues. Maintain a growth mindset and pursue opportunities for upskilling and career advancement at Insight. What We’re Looking For Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). 5+ years of experience designing, implementing, and managing enterprise backup and storage solutions. Expertise in backup platforms (e.g., Veeam, Commvault, NetBackup, Cohesity, Rubrik) with NetBackup Flex Appliance experience a must. Deep understanding of storage technologies (e.g., NetApp, Dell EMC Isilon/PowerStore, Pure Storage, HPE 3PAR).
