Job Description The Didipio mine is located on Luzon Island in the Philippines and is the Company’s only asset that produces both gold and copper. Didipio was built by OceanaGold in 2013 and operates fully as an underground mine, with over 800 employees that support the mine. Reporting to President of OceanaGold Philippines and General Manager – External Affairs and Social Performance this position leads the External Affairs function for OceanaGold Philippines (OGPI), playing a vital role in building and maintaining long‑term, sustainable relationships with all levels of government and other key stakeholders. These relationships are essential to the continued operation of the Didipio Mine and the advancement of OceanaGold’s broader interests across the Philippines. Responsible for integrating External Affairs and Social Performance (EA&SP) considerations into exploration planning to proactively mitigate risks related to social license and regulatory compliance, particularly across government relations, tenement management, and exploration permitting. Key Responsibilities Lead strategic stakeholder engagement to support permitting, operational continuity, and long‑term community and government relationships. Embed EA&SP considerations into exploration strategies to support sustainable and compliant development. Define clear parameters for negotiation, including priorities, legal obligations, ethical standards, and cost implications. Form collaborative solutions by identifying shared objectives and reducing potential conflict. Represent OceanaGold with integrity and purpose in regulatory and public forums. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Environmental Science, Law, or a related field. Experience Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a managerial or leadership role. At least 5 years of experience in stakeholder engagement and dialogue, preferably within the resource or mining sector. Knowledge and Expertise In‑depth understanding of regulatory compliance requirements in the Philippines. Strong grasp of social science concepts, including social performance management systems, social impact assessments, social risk management, and sustainability frameworks. Familiarity with responsible gold mining principles and practices. Sound awareness of the Philippine socio‑political landscape and its relevance to mining operations. Core Skills Stakeholder engagement and effective dialogue facilitation. Strategic planning and compliance management. Policy and procedures development. Strong leadership and team management abilities. Exceptional written and verbal communication, presentation, and technical writing skills. Data collection, analysis, and problem‑solving capability. Key Attributes Ability to anticipate and manage social and regulatory risks. Strong relationship‑building skills with a high degree of empathy, intuition, and patience.
