Responsibilities
  • 1.1 Program the sequence and priority of action steps to be followed by the team.
  • 1.2 Formulate Database Administration’s policies, guidelines and procedures as well as Database Administration Projects.
  • 1.3 Review reports on system performance and capacity and recommend solutions.
  • 1.4 Provide advice/consultation on database administration-related matters to all units/departments/divisions as needed.
  • 1.5 Provide input in the annual Database Administration budget planning.
  • 1.6 Anticipate needs and concerns that may arise, and develop remedial plans of action to address them.
  • 2.1 Participate and make recommendations to Database Administration Manager/Assistant Vice President for System Operations following recruitment, selection and placement policies of the Company.
  • 2.2 Develop and motivate staff to help them improve their competencies.
  • 2.3 Initiate and/or attend various coordination meetings requiring immediate actions, clarifications and resolutions of issues.
  • 2.4 Preside over department meetings in the absence of the Database Administration Manager.
  • 3.1 Conduct coordination and/or planning meetings in the absence of the Database Administration Manager.
  • 3.2 Establish work relationships and delegate authority to ensure cooperative efforts of staff.
  • 4.1 Oversee team progress in accomplishing goals/objectives and implement action plans to address discrepancies from deliverables and timelines.
  • 4.2 Assess work progress and actual performance of staff based on established performance standards and indicators.
  • 4.3 Manage risks related to database information (e.g., database corruption, data inconsistencies and server issues).
  • 4.4 Provide reports and submit the team’s accomplishments and performance on deadlines.
  • 4.5 Oversee staff compliance with Company policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • 5.1 Database Architectures

Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electronics & Communications Engineering, Computer Science or any 4-year IT-related course
  • Preferably Microsoft certification on Azure DBA Associate
  • Must have at least 4 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Database Architectures, Design and Management, MS SQL, Sybase, or Oracle
  • In-depth knowledge of cloud platforms like Azure and AWS
  • Experience as cloud DBA
