Overview

About the position We are looking for a results-driven Supervisor – Business Controlling to lead a team focused on analyzing business performance across the APAC region. This role plays a key part in shaping financial strategy by delivering insights into profitability, cost control, procurement efficiency, customer performance, and operational trends.

You will oversee job costing and performance tracking, manage financial and business reporting, and drive continuous improvement. Your leadership will help ensure accurate data, informed decision-making, and strong collaboration with senior stakeholders across multiple countries.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and develop the Business Controlling team to deliver high-quality analysis and reporting.
  • Oversee job costing and performance tracking across APAC countries, ensuring accuracy and timely issue resolution.
  • Analyze key business drivers, including profitability, loss files, procurement performance, customer trends, volume development, and yield.
  • Conduct month-end closing activities and file checks to maintain financial integrity.
  • Facilitate regular review meetings with Country Managing Directors, CFOs, and Product Heads to align on performance and priorities.
  • Supervise the development and accuracy of Power BI dashboards to support data-driven decisions.
  • Track and escalate cost deviations using JIRA and MS Teams, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports for Country and Regional Management.
  • Promote best practices and lead improvement initiatives across countries.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
  • Monitor team performance and implement strategies to exceed service-level expectations.
Qualifications

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Deep understanding of business controlling, financial analysis, and accounting principles.
  • Proven ability to identify inefficiencies and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills with a critical mindset.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a global environment.
  • Skilled in managing cross-functional coordination and regional oversight.
  • Committed to delivering results with a customer-focused approach.
Preferred Educational Background / Work Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data visualization tools.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.
  • Minimum of 5 years in finance, controlling, air freight, and sea freight operations or business analysis roles. (Required)
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial or operational audits. (Required)
  • Demonstrated success in process improvement and issue management. (Required)
  • Familiarity with Power BI, CW1, and JIRA platforms. (Highly preferred)
  • Experience in regional coordination and cross-functional collaboration. (Preferred)
Techinical Skills
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience with Power BI for dashboard creation and performance tracking.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics D365 Finance System is a plus
