Overview
Category Manager roles across marketing, sales, IT, travel, event procurement and consumer goods with responsibilities including category management strategy, supplier relationship management, negotiations, contract management, and driving savings. Positions require collaboration with internal stakeholders, adherence to procurement policies, and delivering category performance.
What Is This Role AboutThe role supports procurement activities for the assigned category at local level, aligned with Cluster/Global strategies and proposing alternatives when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Act as category liaison for Cluster Category Manager
- Manage initiatives within Cluster for sub-categories
- Participate in financial planning and deliver value/savings
- Drive cost optimization and continuous improvement
- Apply Category Management and roll out implementation plans
- Ensure stakeholder collaboration and business partnership
- Manage local Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) in line with Cluster/Global directions
- Ensure alignment and compliance with strategies
- Role model in compliance and ethics

What Will You DoCategory Management Strategy: Manage procurement activities for assigned category in own location, roll out Cluster strategies, provide local insights for Global strategy, apply Category Management principles, identify local suppliers, negotiate strategic contracts, and ensure sustainable supply conditions.
KPIs & Targets: Achieve procurement targets and savings; lead/bid processes; implement local strategy and corrective actions; drive cost optimization and continuous improvement.
Business Partnership: Foster collaboration with stakeholders; ensure effective communication; anticipate and resolve supply issues; share insights and best practices; conduct risk assessments and build contingency plans.
Minimum Qualifications (typical)- University degree
- 5+ years in FMCG-related procurement/supply chain with category management experience in Marketing and Sales, IT, Travel, Events or related fields; sustainability and innovation experience a plus
- Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, and communication skills
- Financial analysis and leadership abilities
- MS Office and SAP proficiency
