Accounts Receivable Specialist - Cash Application

Overview

This is a remote position requiring you to be located in the Philippines. Atlassian employees can work from office, home, or a hybrid arrangement. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually as part of being a distributed-first company.

Responsibilities
Process all daily transactions settled by checks and bank transfers and download bank statements. Identify and allocate payments in the ordering system and in the accounting system for partners and customers. Invoicing of manual contracts within standard payment terms reflected on the contracts. Process customer refunds and/or withholding tax forms; set up payments in the global banking platform. Prepare monthly reconciliations (including bank reconciliations). Work closely with customers and partners to ensure all cash receipts are accounted for correctly. Investigate unallocated payments and reconcile undeposited funds. Perform customer collection procedures on outstanding receivables. Provide clear communication to management related to upcoming payments, disputes, and potential write-offs. Assist in maintaining department goals and other duties as needed. Evaluate processes and initiate improvements to increase operational efficiency. Be a team player and willingness to take on other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
On your first day, we expect:

  • A degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as an Accounts Receivable Specialist
  • Strong organizational skills and time management
  • Previous experience with a multinational company, preferably in a public company environment (SOX)
  • Strong MS Excel skills; experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, etc.) preferred
  • Highly analytical and strategic with emphasis on automation and continuous improvement

More About Our Team
You will be a member of the Atlassian Accounting Team responsible for AR, Revenue, AP, GL, Fixed Assets, Prepaid, and Accruals. You will work with various members of the Accounting team and collaborate with suppliers, procurement, and business owners to meet weekly, monthly, and quarterly deliverables.
