Reports to: General Manager - Procurement Open to PNG Nationals and Expatriates Our Client Long-established Papua New Guinea trading and logistics company, providing essential services across the country including coastal shipping, freight forwarding, and commercial property management. Scope This role is responsible for the complete end-to-end procurement cycle for the Food & Beverage (F&B) category across the entire business. Responsibilities The core function is to ensure a reliable, cost-effective, and compliant supply chain for F&B goods. Key responsibilities include: Strategy & Sourcing: Developing and executing F&B procurement strategies, managing tenders, and establishing a dedicated list of approved and preferred suppliers . Supplier & Contract Management: Overseeing all supplier selection, negotiation of contracts (focused on quality, cost, and reliability to minimize total cost of ownership), and managing ongoing supplier performance and relationships. Compliance & Risk: Ensuring all suppliers and procurement activities adhere to food safety regulations and relevant laws. Cost Management & Process Improvement: Actively seeking cost savings and process improvements, including driving automation and digitalization within procurement. Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with internal departments and divisional managers to consolidate requirements and align procurement activities with broader business goals. Requirements Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Experience: Proven end-to-end procurement experience is essential, with familiarity in managing contracts, tenders, and negotiations being highly desirable. Operational Competencies: Strong skills in Negotiation, Vendor Management, and Cost Control , along with specific knowledge of Hospitality Operations (purchasing for hotels, restaurants, and serviced apartments). Personal Attributes: Excellent Communication Skills, Attention to Detail , and Resilience to work under pressure.
