Senior Software Engineer II

We are seeking experienced engineer with strong technical versatility and a proven ability to work across a wide range of systems and tools. This role is part of a highly technical support team, responsible for maintaining and improving production environments, deploying open-source tools, developing automation, and ensuring system reliability

Accountabilities:

1. System Reliability & Support

• Provide hands-on technical support for systems and applications during US Eastern Time hours.
• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and performance tuning to ensure system uptime and reliability.

2. Automation & Scripting

• Develop and maintain automation scripts using languages like Python, Perl, PHP, or JavaScript to streamline operations and reduce manual work.

3. Infrastructure & Cloud Management

• Manage and support cloud environments and infrastructure services.
• Administer Linux-based systems, Java services, and Apache web servers.

4. CI/CD & DevOps Tooling

• Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub, JFrog, and Maven.
• Ensure smooth and secure software delivery processes.

5. Database Development & Support

• Develop and support applications using MySQL and SQL, ensuring data integrity and performance.

6. Security & Monitoring Implement security best practices in development and operations .

• Use monitoring and network troubleshooting tools to proactively identify and resolve issues.

7. Collaboration & Documentation

• Contribute to internal documentation and knowledge sharing.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to system design and strategic planning.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree holder. (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or relevant courses)
• 5+ years of relevant experience
• Experience in a technical support, SRE, or DevOps engineering role
• Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Perl, HTML, PHP, JavaScript)
• Strong database skills (MySQL, SQL)
• Familiarity with open-source deployment and cloud technologies
• Experience with CI/CD tools and version control systems (GitHub, JFrog, Maven, etc.)
• Solid understanding of Linux systems, Java environments, and web services (Apache)
• Exposure to security concepts and secure coding practices
• Familiarity with network diagnostic and troubleshooting tools
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Active GitHub profile and contributions to open source projects
• Ability to lead technical initiatives
• Experience participating in on-call rotations or incident management
• Ability to guide junior team members
