ABOUT THIS ROLE

Join our Apex Platform Engineering team as a Software Engineer II, where you will contribute to the improvement and maintenance of our software development toolkit. Your role will involve participating in system design and development and exploring innovative technologies. This position provides the chance to work alongside a team of experienced developers in building robust platform systems that support the Apex ecosystem and modern investment applications.

Work Environment:

• Must be amenable to report hybrid 2x a week in BGC, Taguig

• Enjoy a blend of in-office and remote work options, with at least two days per week in the office.

Duties/Responsibilities

• Design and Development: Participate in developing and maintaining services for specific business use-cases.

• Code Quality Assurance: Follow code standards and maintain high code quality through code reviews and adherence to best practices.

• Documentation and Training: Assist in documenting services and follow guidelines and best practices. Engage in training sessions to understand and implement best practices effectively.

• Monitoring and Optimization: Support monitoring of performance and reliability of services, identifying potential issues. Participate in optimization activities to ensure efficient service delivery.

• Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with development teams and stakeholders to ensure engineering activities align with business goals. Communicate updates and changes effectively to relevant teams.

• Self-Leadership:Demonstrate initiative by staying informed about industry trends and emerging technologies. Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by sharing knowledge and best practices with peers.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent work experience) required

• 5+ years of professional experience working in a software development team, participating in code reviews and software practices

• 5+ years of experience developing with Java in production environments

Required Skills Abilities

• Familiarity with a cloud platform such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

• Basic understanding of containerization (Docker) and orchestration technologies (Kubernetes).

• Fundamental database skills (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, or similar).

• Good communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work within cross-functional teams.

Other Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of CI/CD principles and experience with tools like Bazel and GitHub Actions.

• Experience in Go (Golang) and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.

• Experience or interest in high-growth, high-traffic application environments.
