Overview Presales Architect. This role is designed as hybrid, with an expectation to work from an HPE office on average 2 days per week. Job Description Responsible for architecting solutions that achieve customer business outcomes within a specific technical domain or across the broader HPE portfolio (hardware, software, services, and as-a-service offerings) in combination with third-party components. Develops and articulates compelling, accurate, and relevant proposals and ensures customer business and technical requirements are met. Provides technical expertise to sales teams and customers through presentations, product/solution demonstrations, etc., to gain customer mindshare within their domain. This role focuses on technical selling and may be aligned to specific accounts based on business priority. Contributes to technical components of HPE products, solutions, or services; applies advanced subject matter knowledge to solve complex business issues and is regarded as a subject matter expert. May provide team leadership and mentoring to others and participate in cross-functional initiatives. Responsibilities Demonstrates in-depth knowledge in one or more solution domains, HPE products and services, and the customer’s technical and business environment. Develops compelling customer proposals, reviews them critically, manages stakeholder expectations, and ensures customer requirements are met. Quantifies business impact, positions value, and identifies strengths/weaknesses of the proposed solution to achieve long-term objectives. Translates outcome-based solutions into functional and technical designs aligned to the customer’s needs and growth requirements. Communicates how solution value propositions address customer needs and tracks emerging technologies. Supports account teams with competitive intelligence and builds strong relationships with customer executives across business and industry. Participates in pipeline development, opportunity management, and prioritization to maximize win potential. Delivers product demos and proofs-of-concept to meet customer requirements and develops playbooks for demonstrations as needed. Transfers knowledge to external partners and ensures effective solution delivery through partner ecosystems. Documents ongoing work and shares best practices to improve collaboration with peers and partners. Education and Experience First-level university technical degree or equivalent; advanced degree preferred. 8–12 years of technical IT experience with a focus on technical consulting and solution selling. Relevant industry certifications strongly preferred; enterprise architecture frameworks and project management certifications are helpful but not required. Knowledge and Skills Experience leading solution configurations, demos, and proofs-of-concept to meet customer requirements. Strong understanding of the company portfolio and how products, services, and workloads can address customer needs. Ability to translate aaS offerings and ecosystem value, prioritize consumption models, and align with customer outcomes and return. Advanced communication skills, including storytelling and ability to present in English and applicable local languages; strong business and financial acumen, including TCO/ROI concepts. Consultative/value selling skills with whiteboarding, objection handling, and closing abilities. Expertise with CRM systems, partner offerings, and cross-functional collaboration to achieve go-to-market goals. Hands-on experience with relevant products, solutions, tools, or services; ability to design and deliver live demonstrations. Strong project and time management, analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
