Achieve a safe and healthy work environment by preventing workplace hazards and injuries in accordance with the DOLE Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) standards. Plans, implements and oversees OHS policies and programs • Reviews, evaluates, and analyzes work environments and programs to control, eliminate, and prevent disease or injury caused by chemical, physical, and biological agents or ergonomic factors • Creates and establishes OHS manual • Enforces preventive measures • Conducts of housekeeping inspection at the mining site areas • Supervises the implementation of health monitoring guidelines • Strict monitoring of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for employees working at mining and port areas • Educates, informs, and orients employees of safety related topics through actual trainings in coordination with Human Resources • Conducts safety, toolbox meeting, audit and safety inspection to ensure adherence. • Identify corrective actions • Schedules emergency drills (i,e earthquake drill, fire drill) • Effectiveness of OHS programs in place • Number of reported accidents / injuries • No adverse findings during DOLE inspection • Compliance to Occupational Health and Safety standards Requirements Graduate of a bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related course • With advance training/certification on OSH • Minimum 5 years as a Safety officer
