Job Summary

This role is responsible for overseeing all aspects of a company's contractor relationships, ensuring compliance, managing risks, and optimizing efficiency. Develops and implements contractor management strategies.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership and Planning:

  • Develop and implement contractor management strategies. This includes establishing policies, procedures, and processes for managing contractors, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and aligning contractor management with overall business objectives.

  • Provide best practice guidance and training. Equip teams with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively manage contractors, including contract negotiation, performance management, and risk mitigation.

  • Support various teams. Act as a resource for teams managing different contracts, offering guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring consistent application of best practices.

Contract Management:

  • Oversee contract lifecycle. Manage all stages of the contract lifecycle, from initial negotiation and drafting to execution, monitoring, and termination, ensuring all parties adhere to their contractual obligations.

  • Ensure contract compliance. Verify if contracts align with legal requirements, company policies, and regulatory guidelines, minimizing legal risks and ensuring compliance.

  • Negotiate contracts. This involves negotiating contract terms with contractors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.

  • Monitor contract performance. Track contractor performance against contractual obligations, identifying potential issues and taking corrective action to ensure timely and efficient project completion.

  • Manage contract risks. Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts, including financial, legal, and operational risks.

Performance Management and Optimization:

  • Assess the performance of individual contractors and teams, providing feedback and support to improve performance and ensure optimal efficiency.

  • Foster strong relationships with contractors, building trust and collaboration to ensure smooth project execution and long-term partnerships.

  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency. Analyze contract data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for streamlining processes, reducing costs, and improving overall efficiency.

Compliance and Legal:

  • Stay up-to-date on relevant laws and regulations, ensuring that all contracts and contractor relationships comply with applicable standards.

  • Work closely with legal teams to review and interpret contracts, addressing legal issues and ensuring compliance.

  • Ensure that all relevant contract documentation is properly maintained and accessible, providing a clear audit trail.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or any related course

  • MBA and/or other relevant qualification is desirable

  • With at least 8-10 years of experience in Procurement or Supply Chain Management; preferably from the real estate or construction industry

  • With at least 5 years of people management experience

  • With a wide network of suppliers/contractors in the real estate/construction industry

  • Proven track record in contractor and supplier negotiation, cost reduction and savings
