Job DescriptionThe General Ledger (GL) Associate is generally responsible for preparing journal entries, reconciling financial statements and accounts, and ensuring data accuracy. Provide assurance that information complies with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards. Record information such as accrual, deferral, reclass, and interdepartmental entries into the company's accounting ledger.
- Responsible for the use of double entry accounting system, adjusting and journal entries.
- Ensure that financial records are kept in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and all appropriate records are retained.
- Perform account analysis of assigned accounts to ensure all entries are in accordance with GAAP and theories.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliation and prepare adjusting journal entries if necessary for the following bank account (See Annex 1).
- Prepare monthly reconciliation of subsidiary ledgers of accounts receivables and fixed assets.
- Maintain the list or lapsing schedule of all company fixed assets together with historical cost and verify the location and completeness.
- Maintain, update and establish an accounting chart of accounts necessary for disclosure requirements and monitoring of balances for each particular account.
- Assist in the quarterly, interim and year-end physical inventory count of finished goods and materials/supplies and verify the counts versus the inventory balances in the Accounting System.
- Keep sensitive and vital information confidentially whether acquired verbally or in print concerning the affair of the Group and/or its officers and abstain from discussing with anybody in and out of the Group.
- Perform other duties assigned by the management and department head from time to time. Must be flexible and adaptable to changes that will occur during the course of employment.
Qualifications:
- Graduate BS Accountancy, Accounting Technology or equivalent;
Experience Required
- 1 to 2 years of proven experience in General Accounting.
Skills
- Advance skills in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledgeable in ERP or other accounting systems.
- Well versed in Philippine Financial Reporting Standards and GAAP.
- Honest, Trustworthy, Fast Learner, Analytical skills and Keen to details.
- Able to work with minimum supervision.

What is the job?
Responsible for the following: Our Tax Operations Specialists examine personal tax returns, promptly resolve any errors, ensure that everything looks correct and our system is running as intended, and send each return to the correct destination. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and helping maintain a world-class tax filing system.
- Resolve errors on tax returns with the help of a guide
- “Sanity check” each return to ensure a high degree of accuracy
- Triage returns accordingly, based on ability to diagnose if the problem is an engineering problem, a complex tax situation, or an user error
- Leave detailed notes for other reviewers and CPAs to aid your teammates in getting returns finished
- Correspond with the customer support team as needed when questions require a follow-up
- Add documentation where new issues are discovered
What you bring to the job?
- 1 year of experience in finances in a professional capacity (bookkeeping, accounting, etc.)
- 1 year experience in filing personal taxes
- Experience collaborating with teammates in a fast-paced environment
- Familiarity with filing personal taxes in the United States
- Demonstrated commitment to accuracy with a strict adherence to processes
- Fluency or strong understanding of English, verbal and written
- CPA or CPA eligible
