Accountant & Payroll and Compliance Specialist We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accountant & Payroll and Compliance Specialist to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, overseeing payroll processing, and ensuring compliance with local tax laws and government regulations in the Philippines. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Philippine accounting standards, payroll systems, and the regulatory environment, including compliance with BIR, SEC, DTI, and other relevant agencies on behalf of the company. Key Responsibilities: Accounting: Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, journal entries, and account reconciliations. Monitor and track company expenditures to ensure compliance with budgetary constraints. Assist in the preparation of financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, Cash Flow Statements) in accordance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS). Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and submit tax reports including VAT, withholding tax, and income tax returns. Collaborate with the team for auditing and ensure all documents are available for review. Payroll: Process accurate and timely payroll for all employees in compliance with Philippine labor laws (Labor Code, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG). Compute and ensure proper deductions for taxes, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and other employee benefits. Manage employee benefits such as leave accruals, overtime, and bonuses. Maintain payroll records and issue payslips to employees. Ensure compliance with government-mandated benefits, including contributions to SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, and tax withholdings. Coordinate with HR and management to update payroll information and resolve payroll discrepancies. Compliance: BIR (Bureau of Internal Revenue): Prepare and file all tax‑related reports and documents to ensure compliance with Philippine tax laws, including BIR Form 1601C, 1601E, 1604CF, and others. Ensure timely payment of income tax, VAT, and other taxes. SEC (Securities and Exchange Commission): Ensure the company’s compliance with SEC regulations, including filing of annual financial statements, amendments to corporate documents, and other SEC reports as required. DTI (Department of Trade and Industry): Ensure that the company maintains compliance with DTI requirements for business registration and other business‑related documents. File necessary updates and renewals for permits and business registrations. Ensure the company complies with other local government regulations and mandates, such as SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth, and LGU requirements. Stay updated on changes in tax laws, labor laws, and other relevant government policies affecting payroll, taxation, and benefits. Support the company in internal and external audits, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with laws and regulations. Assist in implementing and updating internal controls and processes related to payroll and compliance. Additional Responsibilities: Provide support to the Finance and HR departments in resolving any financial or payroll‑related issues. Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budget forecasts as needed. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline accounting, payroll, and compliance processes. Perform other tasks as assigned by the related departments or management. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, Finance, or related field. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting, payroll processing, and compliance management, preferably in a Philippine‑based company. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar with preference to QNE). Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.). Experience with government portals for SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, BIR, SEC, and DTI submissions. Knowledge & Skills: Strong understanding of Philippine labor laws and tax regulations. Knowledge of the requirements and filing processes for BIR, SEC, and DTI. Detail‑oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines. Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work under pressure and resolve issues in a timely manner.
