Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Tax Assistant to support our tax department in preparing and filing accurate tax returns. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, experience in filing taxes, and a desire to grow within the field of taxation and accounting.

Base pay range

$7,200.00/yr - $7,800.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in preparing and filing individual and corporate tax returns in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
  • Organize and maintain tax-related documents and records
  • Conduct preliminary reviews of financial statements and identify tax-saving opportunities
  • Communicate with clients to gather necessary financial information and clarify tax-related inquiries
  • Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance
  • Provide support during audits and other financial reviews
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of all tax-related tasks
Requirements
  • Previous experience in tax preparation or accounting is preferred
  • Experience in tax filing
  • Enrolled agent with the IRS is a plus
  • Strong understanding of tax regulations and procedures
  • Proficiency in tax preparation software (e.g., TurboTax, ProSeries) and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
  • (Optional) CPA or Enrolled Agent certification, or working toward obtaining one, is a plus
