Customer Relationship Management Sales representatives need to be adept at managing customer relationships, understanding their needs, and providing excellent customer service. Proficiency in using CRM software is also important. Product Knowledge A deep understanding of the company's products or services is necessary to effectively communicate their benefits and address customer questions. Technical Skills Proficiency in using computers, including Microsoft Office suite, and CRM software is generally expected. Self-Motivation and Organization Sales representatives need to be self-motivated, goal-oriented, and organized to manage their time effectively and prioritize tasks.
