We are calling the position a Data Engineer, as this role includes API integrations, data modelling, and architecting the data warehouse to ensure reports are consistent and readily produced. The role requires strong analytical and data visualization skills, and involves leadership responsibilities for the data department, including gathering requirements, prioritizing projects, and communicating with C-suite and brand presidents. As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for the acquisition, storage and reporting of performance metrics for all Five Star Franchising brands, including but not limited to marketing and prospect data, lead attribution by location, quotes/invoices/payments and other sales funnel metrics by location, and top-line sales by location and brand. Your primary objective is to work with Solutions Engineers to complete data acquisition and reporting projects, engage with CRM vendors to access data, collaborate with Solutions Engineers and Brand Ops teams to create and validate reports, and partner with the Five Star Franchising executive team to create and update enterprise-level reporting. The Data Engineer reports to the CTO and this is a full-time position requiring work from our offices in Springville, Utah. The ideal candidate will combine strong analytics and BI quality assurance with knowledge of US business practices and marketing metrics, and possess strong organizational and communication skills to inspire confidence. Responsibilities Designing and building data infrastructure, including data pipelines, databases, and data processing systems (Snowflake, AirBytes). Data collection and storage from various sources. Data transformation and processing for analysis and reporting (Looker). Data quality and governance to ensure accuracy, consistency and security. Collaboration with executives, brand ops and marketing teams to deliver relevant data solutions. Monitoring and maintenance of data systems for performance, security and reliability. Problem-solving related to data infrastructure and processing. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field (relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of a degree). 5+ years in a data analytics or engineering role (e.g., Data Engineer, Data Scientist, Data Analyst). Strong problem-solving, analytical skills and the ability to translate technical requirements into reports and visualizations. Excellent communication and presentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders. Ability to work independently and in a team in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with Snowflake, AirBytes, Looker and other cloud/data storage solutions.
