About the Role As a CBRE Building Engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, maintaining and repairing building system operations, and ensuring the performance of various systems including plumbing, electrical, painting, roofing, heating, and cooling. The position is part of the Engineering and Technical Services function, focusing on preventive maintenance and repairs of equipment and systems. What You’ll Do Perform maintenance and repairs to mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life‑safety, and control systems; keep facility and building systems up to applicable standards. Comply with all applicable codes, regulations, governmental agencies, and company directives related to building operations and work safety. Maintain an energy‑management program and ensure systems operate most efficiently. Assist in implementing a preventive maintenance program to ensure machinery and systems meet or exceed rated life; perform emergency repairs as needed. Follow departmental policies for safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials; maintain a clean and safe workplace. Review inspections of building systems—including fire alarms, HVAC, and plumbing—to ensure equipment operates within design capabilities and meets client‑specified environmental conditions. Apply in‑depth knowledge of standard principles and techniques to complete complex assignments and provide innovative solutions. Coach others and share knowledge of your discipline and broad knowledge across related job disciplines. Lead by example and model behaviours that align with CBRE RISE values; build consensus and negotiate agreements. Impact a range of customer, operational, project, or service activities within your team and related teams. Work within broad guidelines and policies. Explain difficult or sensitive information to stakeholders. What You’ll Need Licensed Engineer (ME/EE) with 3–5 years of experience in Facilities Management. Ability to meet physical requirements, including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and lifting or carrying heavy loads of 50 lbs or more. Judgment based on analysis of multiple information sources. Willingness to adopt new perspectives on existing solutions. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook).
