AECOM is seeking an Environmental Data Specialist to support our enterprise environmental data management system (EarthSoft EQuIS). The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of environmental data and terminology, good communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This position offers the flexibility of a hybrid work schedule including both in-office and remote work options. We have office locations in Bucharest, Romania and Taquig City, Philippines.

This role includes, but is not limited to, the following activities:

• Understand requests from environmental subject matter experts.
• Communicate new functions and features to users with a solid understanding of environmental data and terminology.
• Work on issues of diverse scope requiring evaluation of multiple factors, including current business trends.
• Prepare and update environmental reports; transform and analyze large and diverse environmental datasets.
• Translate environmental problems into digital and data solutions; commit to data quality at all levels and scales.
• Develop custom reports and user-requested queries and views on various platforms relevant to the role.
• Be responsive to client (user) requests; demonstrate excellent communication skills.
• Provide technical support to field sampling teams and act as a liaison between project staff, analytical laboratories, data validators, and GIS analysts.
• Research state and federal regulations necessary to manage action levels or clean-up criteria.

Minimum Qualifications & Skills/Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental/civil/chemical engineering or science in a related discipline (or similar subject) desirable with focus on Environmental Data and 2+ years of experience in the environmental domain; preferably with relevant experience with environmental data.

Skills/Experience Required:

• Ability to understand data management; strong computer skills to perform transformations in spreadsheets and databases.
• Experience with environmental data and database systems (MS SQL Server, MS Access); familiarity with EarthSoft EQuIS / EIM / ESdat; ability to analyze data for problems, logic, and consistency for field data collection and reporting; experience with EQUIS sub-tools (Collect, Edge, ArcGIS is desirable).
• Experience in supporting projects globally and delivering tasks within deadlines; managing data for technical report writing and interpretation; maintaining project dashboards using EQuIS Enterprise; preparing report-ready data tables, charts, and figures.
• Experience with visualization tools like Power BI is desirable.
• Programming/coding experience (e.g., Python, R) a plus.
• Understanding of data engineering, AI/ML, and data science is desirable but not essential.
• Proficiency with Office 365, Excel, Power Query, and Power Automate.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable running meetings and presentations; strong written and oral communication skills.

Preferred Requirements:

• Master’s degree in environmental/civil/chemical engineering or science with focus on Environmental Data.
• Minimum of 3+ years of experience in the environmental domain with relevant data experience.
