REPORTS TO: Hospital Director and the Chief Medical Director

JOB SUMMARY: The Veterinarian plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality, compassionate medical care to both client-owned and rescued animals. This position involves the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of animal diseases, as well as performing surgical procedures and guiding animal owners and staff in best care practices. The Veterinarian upholds Biyaya Animal Care’s commitment to excellence in animal health, welfare, and community outreach.

• Medical Care & Diagnosis: Conduct thorough physical examinations on animals to assess health status; diagnose and treat various animal illnesses and injuries; prescribe medications and recommend treatment plans based on accurate clinical evaluation; administer core and non-core vaccinations.
• Surgery & Procedures: Perform routine and advanced surgical procedures such as spaying, neutering, mass removals, and dental cleanings; ensure proper pre-operative assessment and post-operative care for all patients; maintain sterile and safe surgical protocols at all times.
• Diagnostic Testing & Interpretation: Request and interpret diagnostic results, including bloodwork, urinalysis, fecal exams, radiographs, ultrasounds, and other laboratory tests; make timely medical decisions based on test results and patient response.
• Patient Care & Follow-Up: Monitor hospitalized and post-operative patients and adjust care as needed; communicate follow-up instructions clearly to pet owners or caregivers; provide emergency care when required.
• Recordkeeping & Compliance: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records for each patient, including exams, diagnostics, medications, and procedures; ensure compliance with veterinary laws, ethical standards, and clinic protocols; properly store and account for controlled substances and veterinary drugs.
• Outreach & Community Service: Participate in mobile veterinary missions, including spay and neuter outreach and vaccination drives; provide animal welfare education to the public and community partners.
• Client Communication: Explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive health care to pet owners in a compassionate, professional manner; address client questions and concerns with patience and clarity; support a culture of trust and education with every client interaction.
• Teamwork & Leadership: Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians, assistants, and administrative staff; contribute to training junior staff and interns when needed; support the clinic's mission and goals by promoting teamwork, efficiency, and continuous learning; performs other duties as assigned.

• 12 hours a day
• 4 days a week

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a recognized institution.
• Must be a licensed Veterinarian in the Philippines (or eligible for licensure).
• Open for fresh graduates; experience is an advantage but not required.
• Strong diagnostic, surgical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
