Overview The role is responsible for managing the mitigation of operational risk across the company. This includes operational loss, operational risk incidents / issues, creating a robust control environment, raising the company-wide awareness of operational risks, operational risk reporting, Risk & Control Assessments (RCA), Risk & Control Self Assessments (RCSA), Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), and the Operational Risk Management Forum. Additional areas of responsibility include business continuity management (i.e. Business Continuity Plans (BCP), Business Impact Analysis (BIA), etc.) and crisis management. Duties and Responsibilities Process Management Comprehensive knowledge of all processes (end-to-end) across all departments in a retail lending business. Able to map processes end-to-end, and identify potential process failures. Able to design robust controls to mitigate process failures. Able to perform root cause analysis on process failures. Governance, Control and Risk Mitigation Promote awareness of operational risk across the organization. Lead the rollout of the operational risk management framework across the organization and with all departments Guide the department heads and designated Auxiliary Governance Officers ("AGO") to identify their process universe, create their process maps, identify potential failures, design robust controls, and prepare implementing guidelines, RCSA, RCA, and design appropriate KRIs. Review and approve each department’s implementing guidelines, RCSA, RCA, BIA, and BCP to ensure completeness and quality. Guide the department heads and designated AGOs to complete the BIA and prepare BCP. Lead the agenda and discussion of operational risk issues at the quarterly Operational Risk Management Forum. Ensure the timely reporting of operational risk incidents, issues, and losses within SBF and also to BAY (as appropriate). Maintain the Operational Risk Management Framework, Business Continuity Framework, Crisis Management Framework, Reputational Risk Framework Planning and Organizing Organize the operational risk agenda for the year, including operational risk deliverable schedule, and training for the AGOs. Knowledge / Skills Requirement Comprehensive knowledge of a retail lending business’s process (end-to-end) from the perspectives of compliance, internal audit and/or operational risk Should have extensive work experience in banking or a retail lending business, but specifically in compliance, internal audit, and/or operational risk Fully familiar with the relevant regulations governing a retail lending business Proficiency in the use of computer programs (EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT) Good internal and external stakeholder management skills Good oral & written communication Result-oriented and a team player Proactive and flexible to changes Values integrity at work Decision maker Trustworthy Managerial and influence skills to lead a small team of direct reports, but guide a larger network of indirect reports (i.e. AGOs) About SB Finance A young, rapidly growing financial institution with an unwavering drive to empower more and more Filipinos – for both those that we serve and those who are part of our diverse and dynamic team.
