Overview

General Ledger Senior Accountant (Manila) – Okta. Location: Manila, National Capital Region, Philippines.

Position Description

We are in search of a top tier GL Senior Accountant who is highly motivated to learn and grow within a fast-paced organization. This role will be responsible for supporting the month-end close process, SOX compliance control execution and quarterly/annual audit process, as well as identifying and driving project-based work to provide process efficiencies for the general ledger team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, communicative, self-motivated, and a team player with working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and internal controls. This role requires working US (Pacific Time) hours during month-end close.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform various GL month-end close activities, including preparation and review of journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations (T&E Expense, Intercompany, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Expense Accruals)
  • Prepare Balance Sheet and P&L fluctuation analyses and investigate variances in detail
  • Assist in preparing internal and external financial reporting schedules
  • Evaluate process and system infrastructure, and identify and implement process improvement opportunities
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls over accounting processes and systems
  • Provide high level customer service to finance and non-finance partners with timely responses and insights
  • Support quarterly reviews and annual audit requests and inquiries from external auditors
  • Ad hoc accounting projects and requests as needed
Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree, emphasis in Accounting
  • 6+ years of combined public accounting and private industry experience at a publicly traded company
  • Experience with supporting Corporate headquarters
  • Solid working knowledge and application of US GAAP, SEC regulations, and SOX/internal controls
  • Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to execute, follow-up, and ensure attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills
  • A team player, adept at building relationships across the organization
  • Proficient with Google Workspace (Gmail, Sheets, Docs) and Microsoft tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred
  • Experience with technology company preferred
  • CPA or CPA equivalent a plus
