Position Summary We are seeking a skilled and visionary Data Architect to lead the design, development, and operation of a cloud-based data operations platform. In this role, you will also act as the Product Owner for the Data Operations Scrum Team, driving the delivery of impactful business outcomes. As a Data Architect, you will define and execute the vision for a secure, scalable, and fault-tolerant platform that enables near real-time operational and analytics-ready data for the business. You’ll collaborate closely with stakeholders and lead a high-performing, cross-functional team to deliver innovative solutions in a fast-paced environment. This role requires expertise in modern data architecture, cloud technologies, Agile leadership, and DevOps practices, along with strong business acumen and prioritization skills. Key Responsibilities Data Architecture Design and implement scalable, secure, and efficient data architectures. Develop and enforce data management strategies, including modeling, integration, warehousing, and migration. Oversee the implementation of cloud-native data platforms, ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and reliability. Define and uphold data governance standards to ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to best practices. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align the data architecture with business goals. Product Ownership Establish and maintain a clear product vision, roadmap, and backlog for the data platform. Prioritize features, enhancements, and technical debt based on business value, stakeholder input, and team capacity. Act as the primary bridge between stakeholders and the Scrum team, ensuring alignment on objectives and deliverables. Write clear, actionable user stories and acceptance criteria for the development team. Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives, to maximize team productivity. Qualifications Required: 8+ years of experience in data architecture, data engineering, or related fields. Proven expertise in designing and implementing data lakes, data warehouses, and real-time streaming solutions. Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native services. Proficiency in modern data tools and technologies, including SQL, Python, Spark, Kafka, and ETL frameworks. Familiarity with data governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Alation) and regulatory compliance (e.g., GDPR, CCPA). 3+ years as a Product Owner or similar role in an Agile environment. Deep understanding of Scrum and Agile methodologies, including backlog management and sprint planning. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate between technical and business needs. Strong leadership, problem-solving, and coaching skills. Familiarity with DevOps practices, microservices architecture principles, and networking fundamentals (e.g., OSI model, security). Fluent in English. Preferred: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field. AWS Certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer, Security). Experience building secure systems compliant with ISO 27001 and NIST 800-53 standards. Hands-on experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker, Power BI) and machine learning pipelines. Proven ability to manage large-scale data operations and cross-functional teams.
