Overview

We are looking to hire a Legal & Compliance Officer based in the Philippines to support our U.S. operations. The role is focused on handling subpoenas, legal requests, and compliance documentation for our company, which operates USA state-wide in wholesale and distribution.

Responsibilities
  • Track and coordinate responses to subpoenas, discovery requests, and regulatory inquiries (e.g., Attorney General investigations, Insurance Claims, litigation support).
  • Prepare document collections, summaries, and draft response packages for review by U.S. counsel.
  • Maintain compliance records, including safety declarations, customer onboarding wholesale forms, Prop 65 warnings, DOT shipping documentation, and internal Operating Procedures.
  • Support insurance tenders and correspondence with carriers regarding legal defence/coverage.
  • Manage and organize contracts, NDAs, supplier agreements, and compliance logs.
  • Assist with drafting internal compliance communications (litigation holds, training material, safe selling practices).
Qualifications
  • Experience with U.S. law, subpoenas, litigation, or compliance (e.g., prior remote work in U.S. law firms, legal process outsourcing, admin, or multinational compliance teams).
  • Law degree (Philippines) or paralegal/compliance certification or proven experience.
  • Strong English communication and drafting skills.
  • Highly organized, able to manage multiple legal deadlines.
  • Comfortable coordinating with outside counsel and senior executives.
  • Strong attention to detail, and ability to use AI tools, such as ChatGPT.

This is an excellent role for someone with U.S. legal process experience who wants to take ownership of compliance and legal support in a fast-paced small and growing business.
