Overview

Senior Infrastructure Reliability Engineer (MongoDB) – Manulife, Makati, National Capital Region, Philippines

We are seeking a Senior MongoDB DBA to provide BAU support for MongoDB across Asia. The candidate will bring 7+ years of experience in MongoDB installation, configuration and administration, with technical skills in monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance of MongoDB databases.

Position Responsibilities
  • Provides day-to-day support including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup and recovery of MongoDB databases
  • Installation, configuration and maintenance of MongoDB clusters on-premise and Atlas
  • Evaluate, plan and perform MongoDB major/minor upgrades
  • MongoDB scaling across data centres and/or in-depth understanding of MongoDB, including replica sets and schema using Mongos
  • Backup & recovery, database optimization, hardening and security maintenance
  • Backup and restore databases and collections as needed between environments using MongoDB utilities
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in MongoDB and Database Administration
  • Experience in production support with hands-on experience on standalone, replication, sharding, clustering
  • Experience in upgrading database versions, migrating data across multiple databases/Mongo Atlas and performing CRUD operations
  • Strong experience in query tuning, performance optimization and data realignments
  • Knowledge of managing a MongoDB cluster using MongoDB Ops Manager
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement proactive measures; monitor effectiveness of implemented measures
  • Willing to work on rotational 24x7 on-call support, planned/adhoc weekend support/changes and flexible to meet business needs
  • Good communication, problem solving, multi-tasking and self-initiative
