We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Financial Controller to lead our accounting operations and ensure the company’s financial health. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting strategic decision‑making. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in bookkeeping, reporting, and cash flow management, with the ability to streamline processes, manage a finance team, and deliver clear, actionable insights to senior management. Key Responsibilities Maintain accurate financial records and oversee daily bookkeeping using QuickBooks. Perform regular and month-end bank reconciliations to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice management, supplier payments, and customer billing. Handle credit control functions and coordinate with factoring companies to maintain positive cash flow. Prepare and submit VAT and CIS returns in compliance with regulatory requirements. Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review. Support budgeting and forecasting by monitoring financial performance and reporting variances. Conduct cash flow analysis and provide strategic recommendations for improvement. Maintain and improve internal control procedures to ensure data accuracy and prevent discrepancies. Assist with audit preparation and collaborate with external auditors. Supervise and train junior finance team members to enhance accuracy and efficiency. Mandatory Skills Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and other accounting software. Excellent attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy. Deep understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and compliance requirements. Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial data analysis. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross‑department collaboration. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively. Preferred Skills Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, CPA) or equivalent certification. Proven experience preparing and submitting VAT and CIS returns. Background in audit preparation, credit control, and budgeting. Previous experience supervising or training finance staff. Experience working in a service‑driven or construction‑related industry.
