Primary Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions Implement and maintain database security measures Develop and execute database scripts, stored procedures, and functions Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues Work within the Agile methodology to deliver high-quality software solutions Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regards to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business environment). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 2+ years of experience in SQL database development 2+ years of experience in Data analysis Experience with performance tuning and optimization Solid understanding of database design principles and best practices Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teams Proven excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Provensolid communication and collaboration skills Provenhighly accountable and self-motivated Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team Preferred Qualifications Certification in SQL or database management Experience with cloud-based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) Knowledge of NoSQL databases At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
