We are seeking a Database Developer to assist in building out database schema, supporting existing databases, monitoring performance, and deploying schema changes between our environments for our development team. You will also be responsible for delivering data to our customers using feeds and reports, identifying SQL performance problems, proposing new solutions, and implementing changes to resolve these issues. In this role, you will work with Developers, Architects, and Business Analysts to develop and resolve current issues, and collaborate with DevOps, Project Managers, and management to provide necessary data for report writers as requested. Primary Responsibilities Design, develop, and maintain SQL databases Optimize database performance and ensure data integrity Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and deliver solutions Implement and maintain database security measures Develop and execute database scripts, stored procedures, and functions Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues Work within the Agile methodology to deliver high-quality software solutions Complex data manipulation leveraging AI for reviewing and validating files Comply with terms, conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures, and any and all directives … Required Qualifications Certification in SQL or database management. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field 2+ years of experience in SQL database development 2+ years experience in Data analysis Experience with performance tuning and optimization Solid understanding of database design principles and best practices Familiarity with Agile methodologies and working in Agile teamsSolid excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Solid communication and collaboration skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Proven highly accountable and self‑motivated Preferred Qualifications Experience with cloud‑based database solutions (e.g., AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database) Knowledge of NoSQL databases At UnitedHealth Group, our mission is to help people live healthier lives and make the health system work better for everyone.
