Role Summary: Our client is looking for a resourceful and tech-savvy Bookkeeper to join a dynamic team supporting fast-growing businesses in the jewelry retail industry. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, streamlining transaction processing, and supporting key automation initiatives using QuickBooks Online (QBO) and other financial tools like Bill.com. The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and comfortable wearing many hats in a fast-paced environment. Experience in retail bookkeeping is highly preferred, and you must be ready to jump in, lighten the team’s load, and make a meaningful impact through operational excellence and innovation.

Work schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM Eastern Daylight Time (9:00 PM – 6:00 AM Philippines Standard Time), follows Philippine holidays

Position type: Full Time

Work arrangement: Remote

Essential Functions :

  • Perform bookkeeping and financial record maintenance tasks:
    • Record and categorize daily financial transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) accurately
    • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including invoice entry, payments, and reconciliations
    • Maintain an organized and up-to-date general ledger
    • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts regularly, identifying and resolving discrepancies
  • Provide retail accounting support:
    • Manage retail-specific bookkeeping needs, including inventory tracking, cost-of-goods-sold (COGS) allocations, and POS system integration
    • Assist with the financial nuances of jewelry sales, returns, and vendor purchasing
  • Provide Bill.com and payroll assistance:
    • Utilize Bill.com to process and manage vendor payments efficiently
    • Support payroll administration in coordination with internal systems and external providers
  • Perform reporting and financial analysis tasks:
    • Assist in generating financial reports such as profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow summaries
    • Help identify trends and areas for cost optimization or revenue improvement
    • Collaborate with the CFO team to support forecasting and budgeting efforts
  • Perform technology and automation-related tasks:
    • Contribute to automating workflows using QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, or other integrated tools
    • Recommend and implement improvements to streamline bookkeeping operations
    • Stay up to date on financial technology to support a lean and efficient team
  • Provide general administrative and cross-functional support:
    • Serve as a utility player across the finance team, and jump in where needed
    • Assist with special projects as assigned, contributing beyond bookkeeping when necessary
    • Provide support with a high level of responsiveness and reliability
Qualifications
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 2+ years of hands-on bookkeeping experience in a retail or e-commerce setting
  • Experience working in or with the jewelry industry is a strong plus
  • Payroll experience is a plus
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and experience using Bill.com is required
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools, and able to learn new tech quickly
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks independently
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Self-starter with an ownership mentality and a passion for continuous improvement
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and remote work environment
