Head of Risk Management

(A Rural Bank) The Head of Risk Management will lead the development, implementation, and oversight of the bank’s enterprise-wide risk management framework. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and mitigating financial, operational, credit, market, compliance, and reputational risks. The ideal candidate will ensure the bank operates within its risk appetite and complies with all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities: 1. Credit Risk Strategy & Framework Develop and implement the credit risk management framework in line with regulatory requirements and the bank's risk appetite. Oversee credit risk assessments of borrowers, portfolios, and counterparties. Monitor portfolio quality, concentration risks, and early warning indicators. Ensure timely identification, escalation, and mitigation of credit risk issues. Participate in or lead senior credit committees. Approve large or complex credit exposures beyond delegated authority levels of lower committees. Ensure credit underwriting standards are consistently applied. 5. Stakeholder Collaboration Collaborate with business units, finance, legal, and operations to align risk strategy with business goals. Provide strategic risk insights to senior management and the Audit & Risk Committee. Other Responsibilities: Develop, implement, and continuously enhance the Bank Risk Management framework. Identify, assess, and monitor all categories of risk across the bank’s operations and business lines. Lead the formulation of risk policies, procedures, and internal controls aligned with regulatory expectations and industry best practices. Advise the Board Risk Committee and senior leadership on key risk exposures, trends, and mitigation strategies. Oversee the Credit Risk, Market Risk, Operational Risk, and Liquidity Risk functions, ensuring cohesive and proactive risk oversight. Direct the development and execution of risk assessments, stress testing, scenario analysis, and capital adequacy planning. Promote a risk-aware culture across the organization through education, training, and communication. Monitor key risk indicators (KRIs) and lead the development of dashboards and reporting mechanisms. Ensure appropriate systems and technologies are in place for risk identification, reporting, and mitigation. Serve as a key point of contact with regulators, auditors, and other stakeholders on risk-related matters. Qualifications Education : Must possess at least a Bachelor/College Degree in Computer Science, Management Information System, Statistics, Business Studies or equivalent. Experience : With 8-10 years of extensive experience in the same capacity or relevant position. Others : With high level of reliability and integrity required. Must have a high level of written and oral communication skills. With good morale, conduct and work ethics. Seminars : Has attended seminars on Credit, Interest Rate, Liquidity & Operational risk management.
